APCC Sustainability Pact
In June 2023, Mundicenter joined the APCC Sustainability Pact (Portuguese Council of Shopping Centers), an initiative that brings together industry operators around shared sustainable development goals.
The pact is based on three main pillars: environmental responsibility, social responsibility, economic responsibility and ethical conduct. Discover the full set of measures and targets here.
Waste Wave
With a focus on environmental protection, Oeiras Parque once again presented an artistic initiative aimed at raising awareness among visitors about the importance of sustainability for the future of the planet. Created by visual artist Bruno Costa, the Waste Wave installation represents a 3D wave made from plastic waste collected through the shopping center’s recycling program.
Surfer Miguel Blanco was the ambassador for this initiative, with the support of Associação Natureza Portugal | World Wide Fund for Nature Portugal (ANP | WWF).
Surf Art
Oeiras Parque combined art, sport and environmental awareness in a unique exhibition. With the support of the Portuguese Surfing Federation, it showcased competition boards from renowned athletes, as well as two sustainable surfboards made from cork, created by shaper LaCrAu. The exhibition also featured a striking artwork on a surfboard made from beach waste, along with photographs capturing key moments of Portuguese surfing. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about excessive plastic use and waste left on beaches.
Artistic Environmental Awareness Initiative
During the summer of 2021, visitors at Santo Amaro de Oeiras beach were invited to deposit plastic waste into a fish-shaped metal container placed on the sand. The collected materials were later transformed into an artistic installation by Skeleton Sea, the artistic partner of Oeiras Parque, and exhibited at the shopping center in September 2021.
Community
The community is at the heart of our priorities. We believe that creating positive impact around us is essential to ensuring a better future for those who need it most. Through partnerships with institutions and charitable organizations, we promote initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life of different social groups.
Amoreiras 360º helps make wishes come true with Make-A-Wish Foundation
Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View once again joined forces with Make-A-Wish Portugal to help grant the wish of a child.

For every ticket sold for Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View, €1 was donated to Make-A-Wish. Over the years, Amoreiras 360º Panoramic View has helped transform the lives of eleven children.
Partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation
Mundicenter’s blood donation campaign, carried out in partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation, is one of the group’s most emblematic social initiatives.
From 2002 to 2025, campaigns across Mundicenter shopping centers registered 40 651 donors, including 12 325 first-time donors, resulting in the collection of 28 545 units of blood. This initiative continues to engage employees, tenants and visitors, reinforcing Mundicenter’s commitment to promoting public health and supporting the communities in which it operates.
Christmas is about Giving and Receiving
In December 2023, Mundicenter launched an initiative, supporting Acreditar – an association assisting children and young people with cancer and their families.
The campaign raised 30 000€, enabling support through accommodation and essential goods.
This contribution provided:

Toy Donation Campaign

Approximately 2 400 items were collected and donated to children and young people from various Portuguese institutions.
Photography Exhibition with Be My Friend
Arena Shopping partnered with the association Be My Friend in support of the fight against animal abandonment, through a photography exhibition. The initiative aimed to promote responsible animal adoption and resulted in the adoption of 5 animals in 2021 and 7 animals in 2022.
School Kits Initiative
In 2022, Mundicenter developed a nationwide initiative to distribute school kits to children and young people from several institutions located in the areas of influence of its shopping centers. The initiative benefited around 200 children, through the provision of backpacks, school supplies, clothing and other essential items for the return to school.
Among the supported institutions were Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Oeiras, Casa da Estrela, Casa de Acolhimento Padre David, Associação Mão Amiga and the Parents’ Association of the Moinho da Arroja School Group.
Solidarity Exhibitions
Mundicenter shopping centers have also hosted solidarity exhibitions aimed at supporting humanitarian causes. In 2022, Oeiras Parque and Amoreiras Shopping Center hosted the exhibition Artists for Ukraine, bringing together works by 23 artists, including Ukrainian refugees in Portugal. A total of 85 artworks were sold, raising 11 502€ for the United24 humanitarian platform. At Strada Outlet, a solidarity exhibition featuring drawings by refugee children in Portugal was also held, with proceeds supporting the Baby Shark Development Center.
Christmas for All
Christmas for All is the name of the campaign through which Mundicenter shopping centers simultaneously supported those in need and the restaurant sector. In 2020, during the Christmas season, we supported the restaurant sector and the community by purchasing more than 2 200 meals from its shopping center restaurants and distributing them to social institutions.
Support to Nursing Homes during COVID-19
As part of a joint initiative by the Mundicenter group, ten nursing homes received donations of essential supplies, including personal protective equipment for COVID-19 prevention. A total of 9 500 surgical masks, 16 000 disposable gloves, 960 units of hand sanitizer and 400 face shields were distributed among the institutions.
20 Years, 20 Awards
In 2019, to mark its 20th anniversary, Braga Parque launched a fundraising campaign for the Dar Asas para Voar social project, through a prize draw of a 1 000€ Gift Card for purchases of 100€ or more. Each non-winning participation contributed to a total donation of 10 000€ to this social project.
Volunteer Program
In 2018 and 2019, Mundicenter and Alves Ribeiro Group employees took part in the housing rehabilitation project Juntos Criamos Sorrisos, developed in partnership with the association Just A Change. The initiative involved 48 employees and resulted in the renovation of three homes, with a total investment of 14 300€.
